"She Works Hard For the Money" - Kris Allen |
] |
I spent most of my first day off since November in bed. While apparently that was a sign I needed the sleep, I can't help feeling like it was a waste. Of course, I didn't exactly have a long list of tasks needing to be accomplished, so I guess it wasn't that big a deal. But all that sleep is not going to make it easy to get to bed later today. Maybe I'll go run around the block a couple times to tire myself out.
One of the things I did get done was to order pictures from my trip to Italy in November. It kind of cost me an arm and a leg, but I guess that's what happens when you have hundreds of photos. I used Snapfish on the recommendation of a friend, and I hope that doesn't end up being a mistake. That's the only thing I miss about cameras with film -- it was much easier to just drop off the film and get it developed. Anyway, the next step will be to put the pictures in my album and scrapbook. Ugh. It doesn't get any less sucky the longer I wait, so I don't know why I always put it off. It took me several years to finish my scrapbook when I studied abroad, so if I can get Italy done in a few months, that's pretty good.

I want to go somewhere. Doesn't have to be a week-long vacation or anything (although I certainly wouldn't object to that), but I just want to get out of town. Sometimes I get so sick of seeing the same things all the time. Maybe I'll plan a day trip to NYC or something. But the problem is finding someone to accompany me. I want to leave, but it's no fun by myself.

I don't know what it is, but I just can't seem to get into American Idol this year. I know it's still early in the main competition, but I usually have a favorite by this time. Last year, David Cook had me at "Hello" -- which was in the semi-finals. Blake Lewis and Chris Richardson had me in the semis too, as did Clay Aiken (don't judge). Although I guess since Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood took a little longer and they also happen to be my favorites, someone could still turn things around for me this year.

Ever have one of those days when you're just bored out of your skull and don't know what to get into, despite having things you could be doing? Today is one of those days. Nothing seems interesting. Plus I have a headache.

I guess there are worse ways to spend a Sunday morning than staring at Jensen Ackles picspam. It's his birthday, so the "tributes" are popping up all over my flist. I've been right-click-saving like a fiend. Hard to believe I'm missing any considering how many I already have in my collection...but I'm not complaining about the extra eye candy. I need a Jensen and/or Supernatural icon like woah, but the creativity isn't flowing when I open up the PSP.
Speaking of eye candy, I caught the first episode of Law & Order UK since Jamie Bamber is in it. (Freema Agyeman doesn't hurt either -- I like her.) I'm not a big fan of L&O, but it wasn't terrible. I do tend to get caught up in the cases once I start, so I might stick with it. And of course the fact that it's in the UK gives it a different flavor that makes it a tad more interesting. Besides, with BSG ending I'm going to need that Bamber fix somehow.

Well, that American Idol final was two hours of my life I'll never get back. I don't know why I even bothered, considering everyone knew who was going to win. Were the other years that awful?
To make things even worse, Sanjaya performed alone, and so did Taylor Hicks...twice. American Idol producers, HAVE YOU NO MERCY?

I'm halfway through Maroon 5's new album, and OMG. I think it might even surpass the awesomeness that was "Songs About Jane."
That's a lot of awesomeness.
